Page Turner

Like many teenagers, but not all, over the years I have lost the urge to read books. I don't know what it is, just once you hit about 8th or 9th grade it just becomes uncool and not fun so people just stop. I don't know why, that's just what happens. During elementary school and middle school I was a reader, not a huge one, but a reader nonetheless. Then once I was in high school, I didnt really read for fun and all my reading was school related, which sucked and which probably made me be so hesistant to read a book on my own ever since. Plus, I hadn't really found anything that i was drawn to. Yes, in 9th grade I followed the whole 'Twilight'  craze and tore through all four books multiple times. But besides that, really wasnt that into it.

I don't know how, but yesterday at Walmart with Chad I said," Let's go look at the books for just a minute. I wanna check out what they have." I went right to the Young Adult section and skimmed over the titles. I was determined to find one that I would like because I really wanted to find something new to read, since all the books on my dusty shelf had been read, some a few times. One caught my eye,

This looked promising. I skimmed through a few pages and immediately wanted to purchase it. I was so excited! A book I actually wanted to read! :)
There was one problem, this book cost $8.46 without tax. I had a $5 bill in my pocession...this did not make me happy. Then Chad, being the absoulute eternal sweetheart he is said that he would buy me the book since I was so excited and because he wanted to make me happy. Another reason why he is sooo perfect!

So, I practically skipped with joy to the register and to the car with my new find. I couldn't wait to get home and crack open this book that was now mine. I was suprised with myself at the excitment I was getting over a book and reading, but I didn't care, I was too excited haha.

So after taking Chad back to his house and driving my little car all the way back home on just about no gas at all and with a gas light on the entire way, I quickly went to my bedroom and got in comfy clothes and settled into read. I grabbed my book and began reading.

I was really surprised at how I just kept turning pages and didn't feel the urge to stop reading, something new for me. I stayed up until i couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and fought til I reached the end of the chapter I was on.

So far, obviously this is a good read (maybe I will do a review on it when I am finished?), and I am excited(wow, I think I need to find a new emotion...) to read the other two books that are in this series. Not only just these books, but many, many books to come in the future.
